is not a hoax. We will revenge the Imperialist British for their
Wednesday
unholy actions in Palestine. The terrorist Israeli state must be
dismantled.
Edward was reading the transcript of the message that had
just been flashed through from New Scotland Yard. Do we know
where the caller was when he made the call?
Yes, partially, he was in the northern end of Plaistow, we
can t narrow it down more than that.
It all adds up to what little we know already. You were spot
in with Plaistow, it is just a sod that with all our technology, we
couldn t track him down. I still don t understand why we haven t
spotted his vans.
Me either. Even if he had re-sprayed them, or put sign
writing on them, we are examining every van, we have their faces,
we would have got them.
The problem we have is that with everyone in the Houses of
Parliament, we could end up with&
TC spoke from his door as he entered the command centre.
Quite, so we have to make a decision, and we have to get it right.
Are all mobiles disabled?
Yes, as soon as Her Majesty passed through the gates of
Buckingham Palace we invoked Accolc.
I think that we should take it a stage further and actually turn
all cells off in Westminster. We cannot risk them having got their
hands on a working Secure phone and cloned it.
Sir, I get onto it right away. Geraldine turned to her
computer and with a few key strokes made the necessary shut down
commands. It meant that people in the City area would get no or
poor signals. There would be a furore, but not as much as if the
terrorists succeeded.
Edward, get down there and take a radio. Keep in touch. I
want your eyes on the ground. Also, ensure that you have a flak
jacket and are armed. I shall advise the 22nd Commander that you
will be feet down, they will have your back, now go. Feet Down
referring to the fact that Edward would be on the ground and in the
area.
Geraldine looked at Edward, she did not at all like the
prospect of him going to face terrorists armed with bombs, but
responded with a smile and a kiss as he turned and waved a
goodbye.
King s Ransom
Now Geraldine, call an Indigo, Terrorist attack imminent.
Indigo was the Emergency call used by the Metropolitan Police,
the extra detail following the codeword gave some explanation of
why. All police officers had been briefed at the start of their shifts,
and the terrorist threat was known and understood. The Indigo
would be an indication that despite all their best efforts, the
terrorists had somehow got through.
My Lords Pray Be Seated. Her Majesty had arrived and
there was a shuffle as everyone sat down. Her Majesty then
commanded Black Rod to go and fetch the MPs from the House of
Commons.
This is just so unbelievable, Anne whispered to Gerald, to
be here, to be a part of this is incredible. Gerald nodded a quiet yes
and mouthed silently his agreement.
Anne watched enthralled as the procession of Commoners
entered the Peers Chamber, and the Lord Chancellor slowly climbed
the throne steps and handed the speech to Her Majesty. Anne was
especially pleased to see that he followed tradition. He did not turn
his back on the Queen and walk down the steps, rather he walked
backwards down the steps. Anne had thought that the previous
Lord Chancellors had been rather rude to turn their backs on the
Queen and walk down forwards.
My Lords and Members of the House of Commons, Her
Majesty began her speech.
As she spoke to a hushed and attentive chamber there was a
dull thump noise from outside and Gerald thought he felt
something through his seat. Her Majesty continued, although
Gerald did notice that the Lord Privy Seal made a discrete exit.
Edwards voice came through the radio, he was running along
Millbank towards the Houses of Parliament. Something just
exploded in the river, there was a thump which I felt, and then I saw
Wednesday
a fountain of water in the river. Was it a missile or mortar aimed at
the House?
Geraldine s voice came back, wait one, just replaying video
footage. Wait, wait. There was a pause of about a minute by which
time Edward was almost at the Sovereigns Entrance.
Okay Edward, no, it was definitely not incoming, and there
is a current swirl in the water. I think they bombed a tunnel. Reports
coming in, no, I repeat, no action at the barrier.
That looks like a diversion, I think we were set up. I see
water coming out of the ground, it is flooding across the Old Palace
Yard.
Wait one, wait one. Confirmed, I have that, also be advised
that water is breaking outside St Thomas hospital on the south
side.
The bastards bombed a tunnel, find out which one. Some
tunnels under the Thames have water barrier doors, see if this one
does. Also, contact the river police. They have the dredger that
Waldemeir was going to use, get them to get it up river, we might be
able to use its load to plug the hole. Get the sniffer dogs into the
palace again.
The Lord Privy Seal had reappeared and was at the side of the
throne. When the Queen finished her speech, as the Lord
Chancellor approached to return the speech document to its purse,
the Lord Privy Seal quickly approached the queen and spoke in her
ear. The Queen listened and then stood. Prince Phillip stood also
and the Queen spoke.
My Lords and Members of the House of Commons, guests
and visitors. There has been an incident outside the house. Pray wait
and My Lord Privy Seal will give you instruction. We shall continue
as custom requires.
Her Majesty then proceeded to walk down the Peers Chamber
exiting through the Gothic Arch and out of sight.
Gerald and Anne looked at each other. Bomb Gerald said,
I heard something and thought I felt it too.
 What do we do?
King s Ransom
Whatever we are told to do. We cannot run as we do not
know where to run to. One thing that Guido Fawkes did is on our
side.
 What is that?
Well because of the gunpowder plot, when ever the Queen is
due to be attending the House, there is a thorough prior search for
bombs, so that bomb must have been outside. We are probably
better off in here.
Edward rushed through the Old Palace Yard, his security pass
held high and shouting that he was Security Service as he went. He
found the Master of Arms standing waiting for the Queen.
Her Majesty cannot come out this way, the threat is outside.
That bomb was a diversionary tactic to get everyone outside where
they will be sitting ducks, possibly from mortar rounds. Keep
everyone inside, Her Majesty can go through the internal route to
the Ministry, and then be safely taken back to the Palace from
there.
It will be up to the Lord Privy Seal to make that call sir. You
are who exactly and with what authority?
It is alright, he has my authority, hello Edward.
 Your Highness.
Is this the same matter that we discussed last week? [ Pobierz całość w formacie PDF ]
